Maintaining a secure server is as important to our staff as it is to you. Keeping out unwanted hackers, viruses, and worms insures the overall stability of our network and our hosting environment. At FastServers.Net we are so dedicated to this philosophy that we often remove servers that are not maintaining a secure environment in a responsible fashion. Take our word for it a single attack on a single server can cause some serious damage.

We start right from the beginning providing a server that has the latest patches, upgrades, and security fixes in place. Our average installation for a new server takes over 4 hours and a 120 point security inspection is done on both Windows 2000 and Linux boxes before they even get to participate in our network. After applying the numerous patches and security fixes on your server we will make sure only the needed services are enabled on the server. We would hate to see your server hacked because a service/daemon such as LPR or NetBios is enabled. Finally, the OS is tweaked to disable other threats such as disabling ICMP traffic, a solid port scan using NMAP, and lockdown of files only the root or administrator should have access to.

We go to great extremes to make sure servers are secure on our network. Often times you might receive emails from our system administrators telling you that your server is out of date and needs to be updated. Security is a serious issue and since you have the ability to do great damage if your server is not maintained, our system administrators take it serious too.

It is recommended if you are not a "Do It Yourself" type system administrator that you check out our Advanced Administrator option. For less than $4.00 a day we can provide you a full dose of security updates to make your server free of outside threats!

Security is so important to us that we have a dedicated team of security analysts evaluating our network on a daily basis to help eliminate threats. We do not allow IRC servers, hate sites, or servers that could in any way cause harm to our network or the other servers hosted in our environment.
