Over the last three months I have been working with Mihai Bocsaru, Chief Web Developer of PRO IT Service (http://www.pro-it-service.com/), gradually implementing new features and improvements on the FastServers.Net BLOG. So far it has been a huge success for helping us communicate with our visitors, customers, and industry partners.

I personally get excited when I have a chance to work with great developers and professional teams. I would like to extend my thanks to Mihai Bocsaru and his team by sharing a recent interview I conducted with this guru.

1. What types of services does your organization provide?

A: PRO IT Service offers a broad range of services to the Internet industry including website surveys, development, content management, blog integration and feature enhancements, search engine optimization, search engine marketing and news publishing to help customers gain exposure to their target audiences. We are also offering News Mastering and Syndication services which allows customers to stay in touch with world wide news on certain topics (selections of keywords, key phrases etc.).

2. How have you helped FastServers.Net with Movable Type modifications?

A: We have improved FastServer.Net's Blog by optimizing the Movable Type templates, keeping the software up-to-date, and optimizing the blog for search engines. I consistently monitor the blog's performance and search engine indexing to make sure FastServers.Net reaches their potential in attracting visitors.

3. What is the importance of optimizing BLOGS for Search Engines?

A: According to Technorati, the blogosphere doubled from 34.5 million weblogs to 70 million weblogs from March 2006 to March 2007. That means 1.4 blogs were created every second over a twelve month period. To be able to compete with 70 million other blogs online, you have to make sure both your website and your blog are completely optimized for search engines. Part of the process includes some advanced search engine optimization techniques such as finding consistent keyword richness and using it for your own good.

4. What is a common configuration error you see on blogs in regards to search engine optimization?

A: The most common configuration error I see is in the actual blog source code. Typically blog coders ignore the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) programming language specifications, specifically table-less layouts and search engine friendly principles.

5. If you were to provide one tip for blog owners on how to increase exposure on their blogs, what would it be?

A: There are many factors involved that influence blog exposure. In addition to making the blog search engine friendly and offering a broad selection of extra features that keep readers entertained, I would strongly advise pinging a broad list of pinging services and continuously work on your search engine marketing campaign. To learn more about pinging services, visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ping_blog.

PRO IT Service is available to help customers increase their blog exposure. Anybody interested should just email them at: info@pro-it-service.com or contact them from their Web site: http://www.pro-it-service.com/

6. What is Blog Syndication and how can blog owners use it to their advantage?

A: According to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_syndication), "Web syndication is a form of syndication in which a section of a website is made available for other sites to use. This could be simply by licensing the content so that other people can use it; however, in general, web syndication refers to making web feeds available from a site in order to provide other people with a summary of the Web site's recently added content (for example, the latest news or forum posts)."

Basically Blog Syndication means offering your blog's content or latest "X" items, entirely or in part, to other people to read on their news aggregators or for publishing on their websites with a link back to you for the full story using RSS Feeds. This is an excellent marketing technique. Your audience can subscribe to your RSS Feeds and be automatically alerted any time you publish new content to your blog. And other websites can display an excerpt of your latest blog posts. Doing so creates incoming links to your website that will help with your search engine positioning, as well as increase the number of direct targeted visitors.

7. Why is it important to keep blog software like Movable Type updated?

A: Security is the number one reason for keeping your Movable Type blog software updated. By updating your software, you automatically receive the latest in security fixes and patches. You also get the latest features and improvements. Doing so gives your readers a better overall blogging experience.

8. How do organizations use BLOGS to advance their marketing and customer communications?

A: Organizations use blogs to communicate their marketing and messages to current and potential customers. Rather than posting your marketing message on your main website, you can build a blog and establish an audience and keep them entertained with things they are interested in. Also, try not to always make it about your marketing message or sales pitch. Give readers information they want to know.

That wraps up our interview. Speaking from experience, implementing a blog on your website and following the advice of Internet gurus like Mihai Bocsaru, you too can find success with your own blog.

Aimed by the goal of helping people around the blogosphere discover the new Movable Type 4.0 beta insides without spending time on getting this platform installed on their side, Mihai Bocsaru has setup a free demo of the latest Movable Type v4.0 software release at http://www.movabletype4.org/ on the very first day Six Apart launched this beta release.
