Meet Shane Reisner, Enterprise Sales Engineer
Shane
Reisner is one of the Elite Sales Team members at FastServers.Net.
He's a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa. And he's got character,
lots of character. Known simply as "Big Worm" since his freshman year
in high school (how long ago was that Shane?), the 6'3" no nonsense
kid from Iowa tells the story on how he earned his nickname. "The
nickname was given to me during my freshman year in high school by
my fellow teammates on the football team," said Shane. "The main reason
is that as a freshman in high school, I was 6'3" and weighed 300 pounds.
I was a big boy to say the least, hence the nickname - Big Worm."
So yeah, Shane's still tall, but doesn't quite weigh 300 pounds anymore.
He's too busy closing deals with some of his favorite vendors. And,
he drinks Slim
Fast daily. We're joking.
We decided to ask Shane some unique questions to mix things up a bit. One question we asked is who is his favorite vendor and why. Shane responded, "CDW is my favorite vendor. They have the best customer service and the fastest response time I've ever experienced in this business. Our representative is hardcore about getting us what we need, and he's a diehard Chicago Bears fan! That's enough to win me over - anytime," said Shane. DELL is also one of Shane's favorite vendors. "The quality of the PowerEdge line of servers is undeniably the best hardware in the industry. Their achievement in building high quality servers makes my job much, much easier," he said. For those of you new to FastServers.Net, remember, we provide 100% DELL servers. And nothing beats providing 100% DELL servers. Nothing.
There are two movies Shane enjoys watching. He says they motivate him to sell massive amounts of dedicated servers. Which two movies might Shane be referring to that gets him stoked for sales? One is "Boiler Room." The other is "Glengarry Glen Ross." We like "Boiler Room," but "Glengarry Glen Ross," that's an early nineties movie that never made our movie watching list. "Why these two movies?" we asked. Shane says it's the quotes in the movies. "These two movies are fantastic! I absolutely love them. Here, let me tell you some of the quotes directly from both movies," he said. We've included Shane's quotes below.
GGR: "Coffee is for closers."
GGR: "Get them to sign on the line that is dotted."
BR: "There is no such thing as a no sale call. A sale is made on every
call you make. Either you sell the client stock or he sells you a
reason he can't. Either way a sale is made, the only question is who
is gonna close? You or him? Now be relentless, that's it, I'm done."
When Shane's not quoting his favorite movies, you can find him zooming down the waterways on the great Mississippi River in his brand new Baja speedboat. This thing is unbelievable. Shane described the Baja 275 boat to us. "I just purchased a brand new Baja 275 Boss. This is the largest and fastest boat I have ever owned. And it's the first one with a cuddy that I've owned," he said. The boat also has room for an overnight stay and plenty of room in the cockpit for partying. Yes, we'll tell you Shane's favorite beer. It's not just his favorite beer to drink while partying on his Baja speedboat, it's the official "Big Worm" beer. Before we tell you, note that Shane does not drink and drive his boat. Now that we've said what had to be said, he prefers Corona with a twist of lime. Not Corona Lite, he wants full calorie Corona. "Make it cold, very cold. And twist a lime or two in there. Then let the limes drop down in the beer. And don't give me a the Lite stuff, I want the full bodied beer," said Shane.
So why did you choose the Baja brand Shane? "Well, just like their company tagline says, 'Speed Changes You,' I'll go with that. For the money, the Baja is the best high performance boat you can buy. Plus they incorporate style, speed, technology, and comfort, all in one boat," he said. Hey, that sounds just like FastServers.Net - style, speed, technology, and comfort, all in one company. Thanks Shane, maybe you should join AP's marketing crew. Nah, stick with selling those massive amounts of dedicated servers, that's what we hired you to do. Besides, you still have to pay for that 26" HD LCD TV, DVD player, and true 5.1 theatre surround sound that goes in your Baja's cuddy. Oh, don't forget the cockpit's new stereo system - (8) high end Polk Audio component sets, (8) 8" MTX subs, and (4) MTX 10" subs, all powered by (4) MTX amps sucking juice from (4) Optima D31M batteries. Need we say more?
Shane gives back to the community every year, but he does it Baja style. Every year Shane and a friend organize and run two "Poker Runs" held on the Mississippi River. "A poker run is basically a gathering of boaters that come together for a fun filled day of organized boating and partying, all to raise money for a good cause," said Shane. "Each participant will have five cards dealt to them. Then at the end of the day, each participant checks in and the participant with the best five card poker hand wins!" The money raised is donated to the MDA/ALS foundation to keep the fight alive against Muscular Dystrophy and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. "One of our fellow boaters at the river was recently diagnosed with the ALS. This is our way of helping."
Awesome Shane. We like to see our employees giving back to the community in whatever way they can. Whether it's time donated or funds raised, it helps everyone in the fight against diseases that are tearing our world apart. "Yes, and it certainly beats what I did prior to coming to FastServers.Net," said Shane. "I worked in a digital photography lab doing digital retouches on high school photos. Basically, I made their zits go away," he said. The next time you talk to "Big Worm," tell us if he throws his favorite sales line at you, "What is it going to take to get you to sign today?" Shane claims his sales statement really heats things up and gets the sales process to the climax faster than any other saying or question. Please let us know if this is true - give Shane a call today.
When Shane's not negotiating with vendors, producing solution quotes,
or searching for the next FastServers.Net new product offering, he's
hanging with his wife and kids. And sometimes he makes his way over
to the Chicago office or to a Bears game. When he's here, his favorite
place is Luke's on Jackson. He describes Luke's as, "Hands down, the
best Chicago style hot dog in town! I have to go there every time
I visit Chicago. Visiting the city and not getting a Chicago style
hot dog from Luke's is like visiting New York and not eating New York
style pizza!" We believe you Shane. No need to get rough about it.
We're joking, Shane is just passionate about those Luke's
Chicago style hot dogs.
